Gauge is a table entry.
Aluminum sheet follows a different gauge series from steel, so the same number does not mean the same thickness: 16 ga aluminum is listed at 0.05082 in, while 16 ga mild steel is 0.0598 in.
Many aluminum suppliers sell by decimal thickness (0.040, 0.063, 0.080, 0.125 in) instead of gauge. When a drawing gives a gauge for aluminum, confirm the decimal value with the supplier. 5052 is about 0.7% lighter than the 6061 density used here.
